Content Risk Chapter

The Content Risk chapter explores risks using both the PESTLE and SWOT frameworks. Strengths and opportunities, such as innovation and global reach, are weighed against weaknesses like over-reliance on specific revenue models and threats from regulatory pressures and shifting creator loyalties.

The complexity of content platforms introduces multifaceted risks shaped by political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental (PESTLE) factors. Recent challenges, such as a major U.S. platform facing regulatory scrutiny and a subsequent creator exodus, underscore vulnerabilities in trust, economic stability, and technological resilience.

By integrating these analytical tools, risk practitioners can identify vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and leverage strengths to enhance platform resilience.

With actionable insights and real-world examples, the chapter advocates for active engagement by risk professionals to safeguard the future of content platforms. Their expertise is vital in navigating this evolving space and fostering a secure, sustainable digital ecosystem.
