Tax Risk Chapter

The Tax Risk Chapter focuses on identifying, managing, and mitigating tax-related risks faced by businesses operating in Singapore.

It addresses key areas such as compliance with tax regulations, the effective management of tax incentives, and navigating potential risks from evolving tax policies.

Singapore’s tax landscape is influenced by both domestic legislation, such as the Income Tax Act, and international frameworks like the OECD’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) initiatives. Businesses must carefully manage risks associated with cross-border activities, transfer pricing, and indirect taxes. Effective tax governance ensures organizations remain compliant while optimizing tax efficiency.

This chapter also emphasizes the importance of maintaining transparent relationships with regulatory bodies, such as the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), to proactively address emerging risks. Through sound tax risk management, organizations can mitigate financial risks, safeguard reputation, and enhance long-term resilience in a dynamic regulatory environment.
